Remembering Julie Chen

Amazingly YOUTHFUL Julie!
Iva Young - Relative through Marriage

All of the wonderful things and people that I see in my daily ventures remind me of Julie.
I really didn't get to know her as long as many of you others have, but I felt as though I had known her for a lifetime.
I guess Julie had that impact on people.
Well, first I wanted to mention that I knew Julie because my sister-in-law is her sister.
From the first moment I met Julie I felt so attached to her as if I had known her forever. She came to visit Szuwan, and my family and I were fortunate enough to be around to accompany some time with her. My daughter who is now only 2 years old instantly fell in love with her also. We have only seen her about six or seven times, but each time was filled with so much beauty and joy that she always left a lasting impression on us that lasted months (I guess long enough until she came to visit again :) ).
Something that makes me smile every night is that my daughter in her nightly prayers never forgets to mention "Aunt Julie's" name. It is so adorable. My husband and I will simply mention certain things we are grateful for and she always has to say "Aunt Szuwan" and right after that "Aunt Julie". To us that is so weird, because for the short time this young child got to spend with Julie she can't get her off her mind. I think Julie is her guardian angel and she is with her. Whenever Julie came to visit she just poured out nothing but kindness and graciousness. She was always smiling and so youthful looking. The name Julie means "YOUTHFUL" and it's the perfect name for her sweet and innocent way of living.
After reading many of her journal entries I was touched of the relationship she had with the Lord. It is amazing to me to see someone so deeply devoted to knowing him, I yern for the diligence to do that everyday.
It is also very reassuring to hear of all the truths and insights she shared with us about her conviction of the Lord's love and for what really matters, because it really helps to put the things here on earth into proper perspective. TAKE CARE OF WHAT REALLY MATTERS! Julie is with him and I am so happy for that, she will just really be missed by all of us until we too are able to join her.
Julie will always be in my daily thoughts and she will never be forgotten.
