Remembering Julie Chen

Your Contageous Laughter
Christy Son - Friend from Home/UCSD

Julie,

I don't remember the exact moment we first met, but I remember two thing about you that have stayed with me through all of these years....your contageous laughter and smile.

Whether it was at a girls bible study in high school or bumping into you on library walk when we started UCSD together, all I can say is you met me with smiles and laughter and I only had smiles and laughter to return. I think of you and I sense how blessed I am to have known you. I'm grateful because I'll continue to think of you and reflect upon all of the memories and prayers we did get to share together.

The day after, I heard about you in disbelief, wondering if it could be true, asking God why? It started to sink in with friends confirming that they had also just heard. Then I received a letter from Wycliffe last week saying God really did take you home....

I still sometimes ask God the question of why.....but I find peace thinking that you loved God so very much that He wanted you to be by His side....

Thank you Julie for being you.

See you later,
Christy
